Comparisons
How this compares
Two differences do all the work in every comparison below, and both are structural rather than a matter of effort: your file never leaves your machine, because there is no server to send it to; and you can name the exact size you need, because measuring the output and encoding again costs us nothing. Everything else these tools do, most of them do more of.

The comparisons
Each one opens with who should use which, then the rows, then what they do better.
- CompressToFit vs iLovePDFpdf
iLovePDF compresses PDFs on its servers using three preset levels -- Extreme, Recommended and Less -- and has no field for a target file size. CompressToFit compresses in your browser and takes the exact number of kilobytes you need to hit.

- CompressToFit vs Smallpdfpdf
Smallpdf compresses PDFs on its servers at three levels -- Basic, Moderate and Strong -- with the two stronger levels reserved for its Pro plan, and deletes uploaded files after an hour. CompressToFit runs entirely in the browser, takes an exact target size, and has no paid tier.

- CompressToFit vs FreeConvertvideo
FreeConvert's video compressor takes a target as a percentage of the original file -- 0 to 10000% -- rather than a number of bytes, caps free input at 1GB, and stores uploads with AWS in Ireland for eight hours. CompressToFit takes the byte figure the form gave you and never uploads anything.

- CompressToFit vs CloudConvertvideo
CloudConvert's free tier is 10 conversion credits a day with a 1GB file ceiling and a five-minute processing cap, and the work runs on its servers. CompressToFit meters nothing, because there is no server to meter -- the encode happens on your own machine.

- CompressToFit vs Clideovideo
Clideo adds a clideo.com watermark to every export on the free plan, reserves its best compression preset for Pro, and takes free input up to 500MB. CompressToFit adds no watermark, has one compression setting which is the strongest one, and has no paid tier to withhold anything for.

- CompressToFit vs VEEDvideo
VEED puts a VEED.IO watermark on every export made on a free account and caps free exports at 720p, and upgrading later means exporting the project again to lose the mark. CompressToFit has no watermark, no resolution cap, no account and no export queue.

- CompressToFit vs Adobe Acrobatpdf
Adobe Acrobat's online compressor offers High, Medium and Low levels with no target size, uploads the file to Adobe servers, and its own page says unlimited compression requires a paid Acrobat plan. CompressToFit runs in the browser, takes an exact figure, and has no paid tier.

- CompressToFit vs 8mb.videovideo
8mb.video aims at real sizes -- 8, 10, 20, 25, 50 and 100MB presets, or a custom figure up to 200MB -- but reaches them on a server, deletes the result after twenty minutes and allows two downloads by default. CompressToFit aims at the same numbers in your browser, and down to kilobytes.

Methodology
What these pages are not allowed to say
All three are enforced by the test suite, not by good intentions — which is the only reason they are worth printing.
Every claim carries a date and a source
Pricing and feature sets move faster than platform limits do. The build fails when a comparison goes 120 days unchecked, so a page that is live was verified within the last four months.
Nothing that cannot be checked in one click
No traffic estimates, no judgements about their output quality, no speed comparison we have not actually run. What their tool offers, what it costs, and where your file goes are all visible on their own pages.
Every comparison credits what they do better
The build fails on an entry with fewer than two. Not politeness: a comparison with no row in the other party's favour reads as an advert and is correctly distrusted, which costs us the only thing the page trades on.
The tool
Or just try it
No account, no upload, no watermark. The comparison that matters is the one you run on your own file.
